What is a Stage 1 remap?

Stage 1 is a new engine map for a car that still has the factory parts. More torque, same turbo, same exhaust.

Stage 1 is for a stock car. Stage 2 is for a car that already breathes better. Mixing them is how you get a limp mode.

A careful Stage 1 on a healthy engine is a software change, not a death sentence. A wild file on a tired car is a different story.

There is no honest single number. A 2.0 turbo diesel is not a naturally aspirated V6. Torque is what you feel first.

A DPF-off file stops the ECU looking for a filter that is no longer there. It is a motorsport file, not a street trick.

The engine map can make more torque. The gearbox still decides when you get it. That is why TCU files exist.
